British Compressed Air Society with NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Installation and Commissioning
Project Summary
BCAS developed the NVQ to address a critical industry need: ensuring engineers possess the qualifications to work safely and effectively across different sites. With the CSCS withdrawal of Grandfather Rights in 2024, the NVQ provides a vital solution by offering engineers a structured pathway to achieve the necessary credentials. The qualification assesses both technical knowledge and practical competencies, including health and safety, installation, and maintenance tasks. It also focuses on soft skills like problem-solving and adherence to safety protocols, ensuring a well-rounded workforce.
The NVQ employs flexible, digital assessments to accommodate engineers working in remote or hybrid environments. Learners can submit evidence digitally, allowing for ongoing assessments without geographical constraints. Furthermore, the qualification is accessible to individuals from diverse backgrounds, with no formal entry requirements, thus promoting inclusivity within the sector.
With its robust design, the qualification is scalable and adaptable to industry changes. It is supported by comprehensive resources for learners and assessors, ensuring consistency and fairness in evaluations. Early feedback from participants has highlighted its positive impact, ensuring engineers remain compliant with site requirements while gaining essential skills. This technology-enabled solution is shaping the future of workforce assessment, providing benefits for both employers and employees within the sector.
Commenting on being a finalist, the British Compressed Air Society said, “Supported by member collaboration, CSCS engagement, and ongoing review, the NVQ has already shown its potential to futureproof workforce development within the engineering sector. BCAS believes this initiative exemplifies best practice in workplace assessment and is proud to see trade associations gaining long-overdue recognition for their contribution to skills and talent development. We are incredibly proud to have been shortlisted for the Best Workplace or Talent Assessment Project at the E-Assessment Awards. This recognition is a significant milestone for the British Compressed Air Society (BCAS) and a powerful acknowledgment of the dedication and vision that drives our work.
Our submission focused on the delivery of the NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Installation and Commissioning, a qualification that supports the practical development of engineers in the compressed air and vacuum sector. The success of this qualification reflects our broader commitment to developing accessible, high-quality assessment and training pathways that are directly informed by industry needs.
For trade associations like BCAS, national recognition of this kind is rare, yet vitally important. The compressed air industry often operates behind the scenes, and its contributions to UK manufacturing and infrastructure are too often overlooked. Being shortlisted shines a much-needed spotlight on the value of vocational skills and the critical role trade associations play in supporting workforce development.
We are incredibly grateful for this opportunity and would like to thank the E-Assessment Association for recognising our work. This achievement would not have been possible without the ongoing commitment and collaboration of our members, and our internal team who will continue to deliver excellence across all areas of training and development.
Regardless of the outcome, we see this shortlisting as a celebration of how far we’ve come – and as motivation to continue building a skilled workforce for our industry.”
Cloverleaf with Automated Coaching Tech That Turns Assessment Insights into Personalized Development
Project Summary
Cloverleaf Automated Coaching™ was developed to solve a key workplace challenge: the gap between learning and real-world application. Many organizations invest in workshops and coaching, yet struggle with scalability and sustained behavior change. Cloverleaf bridges this by embedding personalized, real-time coaching directly into workplace tools, ensuring employees receive contextually relevant guidance when they need it.
In collaboration with INSP, a mid-sized technology company, Cloverleaf addressed issues of siloed communication, ineffective collaboration, and inconsistent development opportunities. Using behavioral science and assessments like DISC, Enneagram, and 16 Types, the platform delivered actionable insights tailored to each employee’s strengths and communication style.
Within six months, INSP reported a 35% increase in team satisfaction, a 22% improvement in productivity, and an 18% reduction in turnover—particularly among high-potential employees. Leaders cited enhanced confidence in managing diverse teams, and employees found the guidance valuable for daily interactions.
By seamlessly integrating assessment-driven coaching into the flow of work, Cloverleaf Automated Coaching™ transforms workplace development into an ongoing, scalable process—helping organizations foster high-performing, engaged teams without the limitations of traditional training methods.
Commenting on being a finalist, Kirsten Morfield, the co-founder of Cloverleaf said, “I am so very thankful for your recognition of our work by moving us to the finalist round, and for considering us for the final award. We are honored to be recognized alongside such incredible innovation in the field of e-assessment. This acknowledgment affirms the commitment our team has made to improving how people work together every day.
Our vision is rooted in helping people become more self-aware, more aware of others, and ultimately more effective and fulfilled in their work. Every day, individuals face challenges like navigating team alignment, understanding motivation, and resolving conflict. At Cloverleaf, we use data from a dozen behavioral assessments to provide personalized, just-in-time coaching — small, impactful tips that help people adjust their behavior in the moment to build better relationships and stronger teams.
What’s most meaningful about this recognition is that it reflects not just a product, but a philosophy — that coaching can move beyond the classroom and into the daily flow of work. We’ve seen this vision come to life through our partnership with INSP, where 75% of employees regularly engaged with Cloverleaf insights. Their organization saw tangible improvements: a 35% increase in team satisfaction, a 22% improvement in productivity, and an 18% reduction in turnover.
Being shortlisted affirms the transformative power of what we’re building. It celebrates not just technology, but the people — our team, our partners, and the organizations we serve — who make this work matter.
Thank you for the opportunity to share our story and to be part of this community that’s redefining what’s possible through e-assessment.”

sAInaptic Limited in collaboration with Robin AI with Scaling talent acquisition at Robin AI using AI-assisted screening of legal assessments
Project Summary
Robin AI specialises in expediting the review of legal documents like contracts and NDAs. To deliver their services efficiently at scale, they integrate artificial intelligence, especially large language models, with expert legal teams providing human oversight and domain specific expertise. Recently recognised as the fastest growing company in the UK, Robin AI faces the challenge of screening hundreds of candidates for legal roles on a monthly basis, which significantly increases the workload on their existing legal teams.
As the first step in their interview process, candidates need to review legal documents like non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), and provide legal opinions for any changes required, to assess their capability to review NDAs. Prior to implementing sAInaptic’s tool, Robin’s legal team dedicated extensive hours to evaluating candidates’ responses to determine their eligibility for subsequent interview stages. This process significantly increased their workload and diverted valuable time from their primary responsibilities. Consequently, they approached sAInaptic to automate the knowledge and professional skills assessment phase of their talent acquisition process.
Since deploying AI-assisted screening of candidates, they have saved thousands of hours of their legal team’s time, improved the marking accuracy across assessors and standardised their screening process, across teams and geographies.
Commenting on being a finalist, sAInaptic Limited said, “Everyone at sAInaptic is incredibly proud to be announced a finalist at the eAA awards, 2025! Entering for an award for the first time, it’s a real honour to have made it to the final stage. As an early stage company, it’s an incredible opportunity to position us as leaders in the sector on a global stage!
This project is especially close to our hearts because it was different from what we do on a regular basis. Using our model for talent acquisition has opened new doors for us and has demonstrated the vastly different use cases for our AI model. It was particularly challenging to evaluate deep legal expertise, not just knowledge but also professional skills at a high degree of accuracy.
The recognition is a strong affirmation of our own vision of using AI to scale the marking & feedback process that forms a crucial element in any candidate’s learning and workplace journey. We are more confident now with this vote of confidence that we are on the right path to becoming THE trusted name in automating assessments, beyond multiple choice questions.
Huge thanks to RobinAI for partnering with us on the submission and trusting our AI model to reliably scale their talent acquisition process. And thank you to the judges for recognising the impact our solution offers.”
