Founded in 1975, the International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA) is a global non-profit, non-governmental association of educational assessment organizations. It provides a worldwide forum for all those engaged in educational assessment, in all its forms, in elementary and/or secondary schools, colleges and universities, or the workplace. Its diverse membership includes assessment and research organizations, examining bodies, college and university departments, and governmental agencies from more than 50 countries. The IAEA’s general purpose is to improve the quality of education by assisting educational agencies in developing and appropriately applying educational assessment techniques. IAEA believes this is best achieved through international co-operation and is committed to facilitating the development of closer ties among the relevant agencies and individuals worldwide. The IAEA believes that such international co-operation can help participants learn from one another while respecting their cultural autonomy.
